Special interests: Dermatopathology,
inflammatory and neoplastic conditions of the skin, hair loss
conditions and disorders of the nails
Dr Vicki Howard is a graduate of Monash University, Melbourne,
where she received the Nairn Medal in Pathology. She completed her
pathology training in histopathology and cytopathology at Royal
North Shore Hospital and spent an additional year training in
laboratory haematology at Westmead Hospital. Dr Howard joined
Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology in early 2000. In 2009, she received
International Board Certification in Dermatopathology under the
auspices of the International Committee for Dermatopathology
(ICDP/UEMS). In 2010, Dr Howard completed the Diploma in
Dermatopathology offered by the British Royal College of
Pathologists. Her particular area of interest is dermatopathology,
including inflammatory and neoplastic conditions of the skin and
disorders of hair and nails. Dr Howard has expertise in biopsies
for alopecia and direct immunofluorescence. She is a Senior
Lecturer in Pathology at the School of Medicine, University of
Notre Dame, and is a member of the Australasian College of
Dermatologists. Dr Howard is also a member of the Royal Australian
Air Force Medical Specialist Reserve.
