The Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an energetic and collaborative Employee Relations specialist to join the HR team at DHM, based in Macquarie Park, NSW. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager and working closely with our managers and supervisors, this position will provide guidance and support in all ER matters for our Patient Services Department.

Duties will include:

  • Supporting line management in consistently dealing with employee relations matters, including performance and disciplinary meetings and internal complaint investigations
  • Attending and representing the business in relevant tribunals, such as the Fair Work Commission, as necessary
  • Advising staff and line managers on matters such as Award or statutory entitlements and legal rights and obligations under the Fair Work Act, Anti-Discrimination legislation and other relevant legislation
  • Providing training and coaching to line managers on how to effectively deal with difficult employee relations scenarios
  • Involvement in negotiations for Enterprise Agreements, as necessary
  • Supporting the HR Manager with HR Policy drafting, as necessary
  • Working collaboratively with the OH&S Manager and Workers Compensation Manager, as necessary
  • Assisting the Patient Services Department in their recruitment activities, including the drafting of advertisements and participation in interviewing processes, as necessary.

Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of eight years' experience dealing with ER/IR matters
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in HR
  • Experience with appearing before tribunals, such as the Fair Work Commission and Anti-Discrimination tribunals
  • Experience negotiating Enterprise Agreements and dealing with trade unions on ER matters
  • The ability to quickly establish credibility with managers and supervisors through a collaborative and supportive approach to the role.
